Senator works to protect the earth

With time running out on his days as a state senator, Ken Haar of Malcolm has presented the 2016 Legislature with a clean energy agenda and is preparing to rally young Nebraskans to protect their future.

“There is an urgency” now as the world accepts the reality of climate change, Haar said during an interview in his Capitol office. “There is so much to do.”

Nebraska Senators Push for Better Wind Energy Incentives

LINCOLN — A group of senators is gearing up another push for better incentives for wind energy projects in Nebraska, including a first-ever production tax credit.

With the expiration of the federal production tax credit and growing demand for clean energy by companies and utilities, lawmakers say now is the time to remove barriers and increase incentives for wind farms.
